The main functions of the Fisheries Department are: To promote the economic development of the fishing sector, through the operation of programs to strengthen the infrastructure and equipment of fishermen, managing resources for investment in the fishing sector before the state and federal agencies. , with the purpose of generating social welfare among the families of the fishermen.
In addition to among others:
Operate strategically the authorized programs, conducting correctly the activities of fishing promotion, in coordination with the people in charge of the fishing units in the State, coordinating activities between the State and the fishing sector according to the programs authorized by the Secretariat, as well as detecting needs for the planning of programs that allow the development of the aforementioned sector, in order to increase the productivity and competitiveness of the sector, as well as an improvement in the living conditions of the fishermen.
Integrate and maintain control of the files of fishery organizations in the State, as well as keep up-to-date the information related to the progress of the activities entrusted to them, maintaining communication with the fishing organizations of the State and following up on the commitments made between the Secretariat of Fishing and Aquaculture with the different fishing sectors in the State, with the purpose of having the updated information for the implementation of programs, as well as being able to measure the advances and results that are obtained by the execution of the State programs.
