Outstanding participation of Tamaulipas in the IBTM Americas
• A total of 253 business appointments were achieved with businessmen and buyers of the meetings tourism sector.
Mexico City.- Recognizing the importance for the government of Tamaulipas of the promotion and promotion of tourism for congresses and meetings, thus enhancing the different forums and destinations available in the state, the participation of Tamaulipas in this capital the international fair IBTM Americas 2019.
The Secretary of Tourism of Tamaulipas, Fernando Olivera Rocha, stressed the importance of participating in this type of forums, which allow to enhance the installed capacities of the state before professional event organizers. He noted that during the participation of the Tamaulipas delegation in the IBTM Americas 2019, 253 business appointments were made.
Olivera Rocha presented the destination of Tamaulipas, within the activities of this international fair, before businessmen, buyers and participants of the IBTM Americas, who promote congresses, conventions, incentive trips and exhibitions, all with the purpose of making commercial connections that increase this tourist segment in Tamaulipas.
In his speech, the owner of tourism from Tamaulipas shared the abundant strengths that the state has, addressing issues such as the various tourist segments, land and air connectivity, existing hotel capacity, spaces for conventions installed in Ciudad Victoria, Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa and Tampico, concluding their participation inviting those present to visit and hold their events in Tamaulipas.
The international fair IBTM Americas 2019 managed to bring together, in this ninth edition, 600 exhibiting companies, among which are 45 national destinations and international 40, with the participation of foreign and Mexican companies related to meeting tourism.
According to data from the organizers, during the IBTM, thirteen thousand business appointments were reconciled, with a billion dollar trading potential, consolidating this space as one of the main ones in the convention tourism industry in Latin America.
