Gustavo Díaz Ordaz
Of recent creation, it emerges on the border with vigorous push, to find its course and gain its place in history; the struggle for its independence strengthens it in the short time of its existence, it manages to incorporate itself to the rhythm of work, production and progress that marks and demands the modern era.
In old San Miguel de Camargo, it is converted by decree No. 261 of the Government of the State published the 20 of March of 1968, in the municipality No. 43 of the State of Tamaulipas, taking as its name the one of Gustavo Díaz Ordaz that on that date was President of Mexico.

In two of its main streets are located the monuments to the mother and the hero Don Miguel Hidalgo.

The municipal seat is located in the Cd. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, which is located at 26º 14' of north latitude and 98º 36' of west longitude, at a height of 68 mts. above sea level.
The municipality is located in the northern part of Tamaulipas; it limits the North with the United States of North America through the Brave River; to the South with the State of Nuevo León; to the East with the Municipality of Reynosa and to the West with that of Camargo. Its territorial extension is 394.86 km2, which represents the 0.33 percent of the state total. It is integrated by 48 localities, being the most important: Diaz Ordaz (municipal seat), Congregation Valadeces, Venice and Villarreal.
The municipality belongs to the hydrological basin of the Bravo River, located in the northern part of the territory of the State, the river through a series of channels irrigates, gives life to laboratories and the entire region.
It has a climate Bsl (h ') Htw (e) dry very hot and with the presence of heat; The average annual temperature is 24ºC and the coldest is 10ºC. Its average rainfall is from 400 to 500 cubic millimeters, with rain regime in summer.
The municipal surface is sensibly flat, reaching its Municipal Head the quota of 68 meters above sea level.
Classification and land use
The type of soil of the Municipality is the eucric flucisol, fertile soil for agriculture. Land tenure is eminently ejidal and its use is basically agricultural and livestock.
Flora and fauna
It has two types of vegetation, predominantly high thorny scrub and in a smaller portion in the southern part of the municipality, the middle scrub subinerme.
Within the fauna are located deer, coyote, rabbit, quail, hare and armadillo.Suggest Edition
