Forty-five fishermen's wives of this municipality received a course for the elaboration of piñatas, as part of the strategy to contribute with the income of the families that depend on the fishing activity in the region.

The course was given to two groups of fishing wives in the towns of Laguna de Champayán and Río Tamesí.

The participants received the course of 3 days by the instructor Nidia Patricia Linco, specialist in techniques for the development of piñatas.

This course-workshop coordinated by the Secretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Tamaulipas DIF system, received the important support of the municipal DIF System and has the purpose of diversifying the options of activities that mean income additional to those obtained by the catches, and that will allow them generate income during the periods of closure and supplementary income during the rest of the year, as well as incorporate women with the participation of economic resources within the family.
