Tamaulipas became the first entity in the country to comply with international agreements that the FAO (Organization of the United Nations for Food and Agriculture) proposed to eradicate the problems of malnutrition, by starting in the municipality of Altamira the program "Omega 3, Nutrition for All ", promoted by the State Government through the Secretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Ministry of Health.

In a first stage, the activity aims to benefit more than 5 thousand inhabitants, through the delivery of hamburgers made from fish pulp weekly, for a period of three months, which helps to combat malnutrition in the location.

This product has a high nutritional content rich in proteins, omega 3, iron, vitamins and essential amino acids, which potentiates brain development, improves cardiovascular development and contributes to cognitive development in the elderly.

The start of this activity was carried out with the presence of 700 of inhabitants of the Azteca colony of the mentioned municipality, who will be part of this pilot plan that will last 90 days.
