Wellness for the Elderly

The Government of the State of Tamaulipas, through the Ministry of Social Welfare, has implemented a social welfare policy that serves the population of people over 70 years and contributes to reduce poverty rates and lag in this population group , for this reason, he has designed the Welfare Program for the Elderly.

General Purpose
Improve the living conditions of the population over 70 years or more of the State of Tamaulipas with income
inferior to the Welfare Line, through the granting of an economic support that allows them to strengthen their
income and improve their economic well-being.

Specific goal
Grant an economic support of $ 1,200.00 (one thousand two hundred pesos 00 / 100 national currency) twice a month
to 70 seniors with income below the Wellness Line.

Community Welfare Eaters

The Government of the State of Tamaulipas, through the Ministry of Social Welfare, has implemented a social welfare policy that addresses the food shortage and contributes to reducing the rates of this lack, for which it has designed the Community Welfare Eaters Program.

General Purpose

Contribute to the reduction of the lack of food in Tamaulipas through the supply and distribution of
food in community kitchens.

Specific objectives

  • Operate Community Welfare Eaters in areas with vulnerable people and those who lack
    food, including all those that live in Priority Attention Areas (ZAP).
  • Provide 2 daily food rations from Monday to Friday to the right holders of the Program.

Food Wellbeing

The Government of the State of Tamaulipas, through the Ministry of Social Welfare, with the purpose of addressing the lack of food, has designed the Food Welfare Program, which will allow the population that is in conditions of food poverty and / or of income may have access to a greater quantity of food products.

General Purpose
Contribute to the food security of families with some degree of poverty and marginalization, through the provision of food supports that help improve the conditions of family economy.

Specific goal
Provide food support with items similar to the basic basket, to Tamaulipas families of the 43 municipalities, in conditions of social vulnerability and people who are below the welfare line.

Civil Society Organizations

The Government of the State of Tamaulipas, establishes as fundamental objective to propitiate conditions
indispensable to raise the well-being of people; One of the important factors to develop in the State is to seek the empowerment of society through the promotion of civil organizations, which is why the Linking Program with Civil Society Organizations is created, through the Secretariat of Welfare Social through the corresponding areas, seeks to encourage the participation of organized civil society.

General Purpose

Strengthen civil society organizations to incorporate their participation and effective incidence in reducing gaps, the prevention of violence and the citizenization of public spaces; through the development of social and productive projects with a perspective of human rights, gender equality and sustainable development.

Specific objectives

  • Grant economic support to strengthen the activities carried out by the organisms of society
    civil society, including needs for its operation and better performance of the care services that
    they lend to the community.
  • Contribute to increase the participation of civil society organizations in attention to
    social problems, through training to acquire knowledge and tools
    methodologies, improve their intervention models and in turn, expand their organizational capacities,
    operational and interaction.

Promotion and Institutionalization of Human Rights

The budget program called Promotion and Institutionalization of Human Rights, has been designed to comply with the constitutional obligations related to human rights, as well as the provisions of the 2016-2022 State Development Plan of Tamaulipas and the attributions entrusted to the Ministry of Social Welfare, with the vision of contributing to the construction of dignified conditions for people, trying to reduce ignorance of rights and promoting public policies on human rights.

General Purpose

Consolidate the culture of human rights in the taking of public decisions and in the forms of social coexistence.

Specific objectives

  • Provide training to the public servants of the Executive Power, as well as to the students of the higher education institutions of the State of Tamaulipas.
  • Carry out activities to promote and disseminate human rights.

Single Social Records Census

The Unique Social File "Todos Contamos" Census TAM 2017 was born in response to the need for disaggregated information at the individual, household and housing levels, which makes it difficult to focus social programs in a precise manner.

In this sense, the Unique Social File responds to the objectives of the Social Welfare Secretariat, which are: propose, design, specify, execute and monitor social programs for attention and precise overcoming of social deprivation and / or vulnerability of income in the state.

Objectives of the Census

The "Unique Social File" has the purpose of generating a solid base in the matter of social development, in order to conduct actions that correctly attend to the population with social and / or vulnerable deficiencies by income in the state of Tamaulipas. In addition, it seeks to link the manifestations of poverty with violence and social violence, to establish the role they play in the efficiency of the social development policy in the state.

The census contributes to the following specific objectives:

  • Have information on individuals, households and housing, collected directly by the state of Tamaulipas to assess their poverty situation.
  • Know the link between poverty indicators and social violence in the population of the state of Tamaulipas.
  • Make clear and well-directed decisions to contribute to the process of diminishing social deprivation in Tamaulipas.
  • Analyze the socioeconomic information in relation to the social deprivations measured by the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (CONEVAL), including the violence index.
  • Approve socio-economic and socio-demographic information of potential right holders of social programs.
  • Classify the population in a situation of multidimensional poverty according to the criteria established by CONEVAL and focus more reliably on the supports granted by social programs.

What are the benefits of carrying out the Census?

Derived from this census survey, the following achievements have been obtained:

  • Obtaining a recent radiography of the social reality of households and homes in Tamaulipas.
  • Creation of a database of citizens from Tamaulipas who have at least a social deficiency and / or who are below the welfare line.
  • With the information, social programs focused on individuals, households and homes that have at least one social deficiency and / or are below the welfare line can be created.
  • Adaptation of the CONEVAL methodology to measure multidimensional poverty in the state, and identify the population with lack and / or vulnerable by income.
  • Link poverty with social violence.
  • The use of new information technologies will allow the Single Social Record to be updated on a daily basis, with the purpose of monitoring progress in reducing poverty in the state.
