Governor Award Cabeza de Vaca to the winners of the International Corvina tournament in La Pesca.
Competitors from 5 states of the country and from Texas participate.

Soto la Marina, Tamaulipas.- The 68th International Fishing Tournament for Corvina and Various Species 2021, held on La Pesca beach, on November 13 and 14, broke a record by registering more than 200 competing rods from the states of Durango -Coahuila-Nuevo León-Hidalgo-Veracruz and Texas, United States.
This Sunday, Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, attended the maximum sport fishing fair, held on La Pesca beach, which, as every year, brings together sport fishermen and fans of this sport.
“For a long time we have looked for a way for this type of event to take place, but this would not have been possible without you; You who have trusted in this beautiful place, who have made this tournament a tradition, were about 200 rods who registered and that shows the love they have for the sport. On our part from the State Government, tell them that we are going to continue supporting and backing all the actions that are aimed at continuing to promote this type of healthy and family event "said the Governor Cabeza de Vaca to competitors and fishing enthusiasts.
He reiterated his commitment to continue promoting this type of event “to welcome all the people who visit us from other states of the Republic, from Coahuila, from Nuevo León, from Durango, Hidalgo, from Veracruz, to thank them for the trust they have placed in Nowadays, thanks to the joint work between society and the public policies of the State Government, Tamaulipas proudly occupies the first place in the safest and most visited roads in Mexico, ”the president highlighted.
Luis Enrique Gutiérrez, from Ciudad Victoria, who attends the international tournament year after year, was the winner of the tournament by catching a 14.240 kilogram Corvina.
“We are going to enjoy the award and continue participating as a family, the road conditions are very good and it gives us the peace of mind to travel. We hope that the following years will be with us more, all this great amount we make possible the economic theme for this town La Pesca ”, highlighted the winner of the first place of the international fishing tournament.
Gerardo Bonilla, from the “Delfines del Golfo” Fishing Club of San Rafael, Veracruz, achieved first place in Various Species by catching a Horse Mackerel weighing 2.490 kilograms.
In the female category, Diana Ruiz, caught a 1.450 kilogram meager, and the boy, Íker, was awarded a 1.290 kilogram meager.
For his part, the President of the Tamatán AC Shooting, Hunting and Fishing Sports Club, Luis Eduardo García Reyes, stressed that the fishing tournament is a tradition of friends and family atmosphere in Tamatán we promote tourism, sport fishing, values.
In this scenario, special recognition was given to the child Antonio Rivera, for his participation and special effort, and the Technological Universality of the Sea, for his invaluable collaboration and work for the realization of the event.
The award ceremony was attended by CGDEM Captain Leocadio Mar Mar, representative of the Commander of the La Pesca Naval Sector, Rear Admiral Carlos Alberto Mendoza Rovira, Luis Antonio Medina Jasso, Mayor of Soto la Marina, José Luis Martínez Portilla, Undersecretary of Management of Health Tourism and Binational Affairs of the State Tourism Secretariat, Julio Estrella Tepatl, director of sustainable development and strategic projects, Marcelo Fernández Franco, Executive Member of the Tamaulipas Hunting and Sport Fishing Commission, Wenceslao Salinas García, Captain of the Port Fishing.
