Commemorates Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca 174 Anniversary of the Heroic Gesta de Chapultepec

In a solemn civic ceremony, the president commemorated this September 13, the date on which Mexican military cadets honorably defended the Castle of Chapultepec during an intervention in Mexico in 1847.

Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.- The Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, together with the Brigadier General with a Diploma of the General Staff, Vicente Antonio Hernández Sánchez, Commander of the 8th Military Zone, presided over the ceremony of the 174th Anniversary of the Heroic Gestation of Chapultepec, remembering the courage, honor and patriotism of the Niños Héroes.

During a working day in Ciudad Victoria, the president recalled the historical event where Mexican military cadets died in the battle of Chapultepec on September 13, 1847 during the US intervention in Mexico, thus commemorating their patriotic courage and loyalty.

The Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, participated in the civic act remembering the honor roll of the Heroic Military College.

“Lieutenant Juan de la Barrera, Cadet, Juan Escutia, Cadet, Agustín Melgar, Cadet, Vicente Flores, Cadet, Fernando Montes de Oca, Cadet, Francisco Márquez; from the Heroic Naval Military School, Lieutenant, José Azueta, Cadet, Virgilio Uribe ”, he highlighted.

In coordination, authorities from the three levels of government agreed to join efforts, even over and above natural differences, to forge a homeland in which there is no unhealthiness, illiteracy, or poverty in the Mexican territory.

The commemorative ceremony for the Niños Héroes is one of the most exalted events in the history of the country, where some young cadets from the Heroico Colegio Militar in Chapultepec offered their lives for the country.

"Today we pay tribute to this Tamaulipas altar, erected in his memory to those who left us such a worthy example of love for freedom and values ​​of honor and loyalty that are sublime teachings for posterity," said the Commander of the 8th Zone Military.

During the civic event, the Rear Admiral General Corps of the General Staff, Carlos Alberto Mendoza Rovira, Commander of the La Pesca Naval Sector, on behalf of the Vice Admiral Aeronáutica Naval, Pilot Aviator Diploma of the General Staff, José Carlos Vera Vidal, Commander of the First Zone, were present. Naval, Brigadier General Diplomate of the General Staff, Bernardo Reyes Herrera, State Coordinator of the National Guard, Pilar Gómez Leal, Mayor of Ciudad Victoria, Local Deputy Alfredo Vanzzini Aguiñaga, Magistrate of the Second Criminal Chamber, Javier Castro Ormachea and Mario Gómez Monrroy, Secretary of Education in Tamaulipas.
