Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.- The company Valero, an international producer of fuel for transportation and a global supplier of petrochemical raw materials, announced the construction by its commercial partner OTM of a refined terminal in the port of Altamira, which is part of a logistics project of the company in the north of the country.

The US-capital corporation based in Texas has been operating in Tamaulipas for two years, through a storage terminal in Nuevo Laredo with a capacity of 195 thousand barrels.

The new terminal in the port of Altamira will have a capacity of 1.1 million barrels for regular, premium and diesel gasoline and is expected to come into operation in the first half of 2023.

In this way, Valero will have an installed oil storage capacity of 1 thousand barrels in Tamaulipas, which increases the state's storage capacity by nearly 295%, thus contributing from the state to Mexico's energy security.

The construction is in its first phase and represents an investment of more than 120 million dollars, in addition to employing personnel from the southern zone.

Tamaulipas continues to consolidate itself as the main destination for foreign investment, generating confidence among already established entrepreneurs and those who see the entity as potential to develop their industrial activities.
