Tampico, Tamaulipas.- The Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca held a working meeting with the CEO of PETRONAS, Emry Hishman Yusoff, and executives of the Malaysian state company, dedicated to the sale, transportation and production of crude oil, natural gas and liquefied gas; in which the drilling of an exploratory well 180 kilometers from the Tamaulipas coast was announced, which will detonate the activities of the Port of Tampico, chosen by the company as the base of operations.

García Cabeza de Vaca highlighted the competitive advantages, installed capacity and energy potential of Tamaulipas, in addition to the strategic location of the entity and the security conditions that prevail in the Southern Conurb of Tamaulipas, which facilitate the arrival and expansion of national investments and foreign.

«It is a Malaysian company that is already working here in the Gulf of Mexico and that is taking as a base the Port of Tampico, since they saw the options they had in other Gulf cities and realized that the south of Tamaulipas Not only is it very beautiful, but the security conditions and above all the environment that they were looking for, makes it propitious for them to settle here in the south of Tamaulipas. The Bacalar-1 exploratory well is located 180 kilometers southeast of Tampico, whose port will be the operational base of PETRONAS, which will carry out maritime, air and alternative activities, to carry out the transport, loading, unloading and storage of the equipment of drilling.
