Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.- The National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (CONEVAL), announced that Tamaulipas is the entity in the country that has more programs and actions at the national level to support the population and the productive sectors in the face of the health and economic crisis caused by Covid-19.

According to the Panorama of Social Programs and Actions in the Federal Entities to Respond to the Effects of the Pandemic by the SARS-CoV-2 Virus, recently published by CONEVAL, Tamaulipas implemented 72 public policies that contributed to the attention of the social rights and granted some direct good or service to the population affected by the pandemic.

“Although it is important to recognize the effort and immediate response that state governments have given, it must also be considered that there are challenges that must be addressed to effectively guarantee social rights. In the first place, it is necessary to have a comprehensive national and coordinated strategy, ”convened the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy.

In terms of health, Tamaulipas is also the entity in the country that has carried out the most actions, focused on preventing the effects of the disease on the health of the population and increasing the availability of beds for hospitalization.

The Government of Tamaulipas invested state resources for the construction of 8 fully equipped Hospitals to exclusively attend to Covid-19 patients to expand the number of Hospitalization beds of the State Health System, also carried out the reconversion of state and private hospitals for the care of the illness.

The panorama presented by CONEVAL shows that Tamaulipas has carried out the greatest number of actions to guarantee the right to education, such as designing printed and electronic resources to support teachers, students and parents, having printed materials for students who They do not have Internet access and broadcast educational content through radio and television.

Tamaulipas also occupies the first national place in actions to guarantee the right to food of the most vulnerable population, through programs for the delivery of food packages, community kitchens, among others.

In economic matters, according to CONEVAL, Tamaulipas is one of the entities in the country that has provided the most tax incentives to support the productive sectors, through the delivery of microcredits, business loans and the forgiveness of some state taxes.
