Signature Tamaulipas, Coahuila and NL unpublished agreement on Public Safety

The coordination of security actions will depend on the 4ta. Military Region, the Military Zones in the three entities and the Naval Zone in the case of Tamaulipas.

Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.- The governors Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, of Tamaulipas; Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, from Coahuila; and Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, from Nuevo León; they signed a collaboration agreement on public security in the capital of Tamaulipas, in order to contribute to the preservation of public order and peace in the region.

According to the scope of the powers of the Governments of Tamaulipas, Coahuila and Nuevo León, and their respective dependencies, the authorities committed themselves to implement and execute joint actions in the area of ​​Human Rights, prevention, investigation and prosecution of crime, citizen participation, attention victims and offenders of crime, disappearance of persons, migration, fight against corruption, exchange of information and training of police forces.

Among the first actions to be developed are the sealing of access roads in the states, patrolling and mixed operating bases.

The operation of the security actions will be coordinated by 4ta commands. Military Region, of the Military Zones, and Naval in the case of Tamaulipas, in collaboration with the General Secretaries of Government, Secretaries of Public Security and Prosecutors of each of the entities that signed the agreement, explained Division General Jens Pedro Lohmann Iturburu, Commander of the 4ta. Military Region.

"Never in the history an agreement of this nature had been signed. This demonstrates the political will that exists between the 3 states to join efforts, capabilities, talents and resources to be able to guarantee what today demand and demand the families in our states: security and well-being, "Governor Garcia said at a press conference Cabeza de Vaca.

He added that this tripartite governmental action sends a clear message to locals and foreigners: "Those who believe that by crossing the dividing line from one state to another will evade justice, they are mistaken. Because today we are working in a more coordinated way the 3 State Governments ".

Governor Rodríguez Calderón stressed that the agreement and the coordinated actions that derive from it, will generate security and confidence, translated investment and tourism for the 3 border entities.

"This area crosses most of Mexico's economy. Here the wealth of this country is generated in terms of exports and imports. There is a totally local coexistence where we have a correlation with our northern neighbors, particularly Texas and we obviously want to build trust for people to visit us, "he said.

For his part, Governor Riquelme Solís said that Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon and Coahuila, "we are 3 states that have fought hard to obtain the indicators that our society deserves. We have had bad times, good times and I think better times are coming. This agreement, I am sure, will force us to improve our technologies that also allow us to exchange more information ".
