Entrepreneurs and IMCO join the planning of the development of Tamaulipas.

Tampico, Tamaulipas.- Governor Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca and Manuel Molano Ruíz, general director of the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO), held a meeting with business leaders from the Southern Conurbation Zone, in order to involve the sector in decision-making and the creation of public policies for economic development and competitiveness.

The IMCO, among other institutions specialized in planning for development, will collaborate with the State Government in the preparation of various studies to form the Tamaulipas Gran Vision 2050 strategy, a work plan that will define a transexual development agenda for the state.

"I welcome the initiative of the Governor, I find it extremely useful, it is fortunate for Tamaulipas to have this luxury of Governor, a very capable man, very prepared and who has in his head the future of the following generations. He announced that according to the 2018 State and Urban Competitiveness Indexes elaborated by the IMCO, Tamaulipas is located in the group of entities with high average competitiveness, based on factors such as government, political system, society, environment, State of Law , innovation, international relations, economy, among others.

Governor Garcia Cabeza de Vaca He said that in order to promote development and competitiveness, peace and wellbeing in Tamaulipas, the State Government is promoting 3 cross-cutting strategies: citizen security, social welfare and investment, actively involving society and the productive sectors.

"We are thinking about the next generation. That is why we are carrying out this type of actions. I am grateful that the IMCO is present here, that they let us know the vision they have on how we can make Tamaulipas more competitive, on how we can make decisions always looking to the future, "he assured.

In the meeting with businessmen participated leadership from CEDEC, CIEST, Coparmex, AMMEST, CEDES, Canacintra, CEM, CMIC and AISTAC, who discussed the current context of the regional economy.

On behalf of the Government of Tamaulipas were the Head of the Governor's office Cabeza de Vaca, Víctor Sáenz Martínez; Secretaries of Economic Development; Fishing and Aquaculture; Urban Development and the Environment; Undersecretary for SMEs; and the General Director of Prodetam.

IMCO is a research center that proposes effective solutions to the most important challenges in Mexico, which represents an important opportunity for Tamaulipas to strengthen ties with the private sector.
